Question 1

What is the difference between Writing to Score and English to Score?

Accepted Answer

Writing to Score builds composition writing — how to generate, organise and develop ideas, using our own frameworks rather than memorising model compositions. English to Score covers the wider English paper: grammar and vocabulary, comprehension and inference, editing and language accuracy, synthesis and transformation, comprehension cloze, situational writing where appropriate, and examination technique. Both run for P3–P6.

Question 2

How do I know which Mathematics class is suitable for my child?

Accepted Answer

Solve to Score Maths classes are grouped by level in the 2027 Saturday timetable — P3, P4, P5 and P6. Tell us your child's level and we'll confirm the right class for them. Every student sits a placement check before joining, so if your child is between levels we'll recommend the class where the work actually suits them.

Question 3

Are the online lessons conducted live?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Online lessons are live and teacher-led, with guided practice and feedback inside the lesson — not prerecorded videos or a self-paced subscription.

Question 4

How many lessons are there in one term?

Accepted Answer

The 2027 primary programmes run 10 lessons per term, as weekly 2-hour lessons. We will publish the exact Term 1 lesson dates once the 2027 calendar is confirmed.

Question 5

What is included in the term fees?

Accepted Answer

Structured weekly teaching, AfterClass learning materials, guided practice, marked work with feedback, and learning progress information for parents. Anything beyond this list is confirmed with you before enrolment.

Question 6

How does the 2027 founding enrolment rate work?

Accepted Answer

2027 Term 1 is our founding term: SGD 600 per course instead of the usual SGD 700 — a SGD 100 saving, based on 10 lessons of 2 hours. It applies to eligible 2027 programmes covered by the founding promotion.

Question 7

Will the founding rate continue into Term 2?

Accepted Answer

Eligible founding students who continue into Term 2 pay SGD 650 instead of the usual SGD 700 — a SGD 50 saving. Together with the Term 1 saving, that is SGD 150 across your first two terms. The continuation rate applies only to students who qualify under the founding enrolment arrangement.

Question 8

How does the referral reward work?

Accepted Answer

Refer a friend to AfterClass and receive $30 for every new student who successfully enrols. Each qualifying new student generates one reward, and a referral becomes eligible only after the referred student has completed enrolment and the required course payment is confirmed.

Question 9

Is there a limit to how many friends I can refer?

Accepted Answer

No. There is no limit to the number of eligible students you can refer, and no cap on the rewards you can accumulate.

Question 10

Can I choose cash instead of a fee discount?

Accepted Answer

Yes. For each eligible referral you choose either a $30 credit off your course fees or a $30 cash reward. Rewards are reviewed and approved by our team before they are issued, and are never deducted from an invoice automatically.

Question 11

Can my child join after the term has started?

Accepted Answer

It depends on whether the class has a place and how much of the term remains. Ask us before you decide — we'll confirm availability and how fees work for your child's start date.

Question 12

What happens if my child misses a lesson?

Accepted Answer

Our 2027 make-up and missed-lesson policy is still being finalised. Please ask us when you enquire, and we'll confirm it in writing before you enrol — we would rather be clear up front than after you've paid.

Question 13

Can I transfer from online to in-person classes?

Accepted Answer

Transfers depend on whether the in-person class has a place. Tell us the class and term you're considering and we'll confirm case by case before moving your child.

Question 14

Are trial lessons available?

Accepted Answer

Yes — we offer a free trial lesson before you commit. Ask us about the class you're considering and we'll arrange it.

Question 15

How will parents receive feedback on my child's progress?

Accepted Answer

You'll receive regular progress updates covering attendance, homework completion, marking results and topic mastery — through your family portal and directly from your child's tutor.

Question 16

Is online tuition really effective?

Accepted Answer

Yes — when the system around it is strong. AfterClass online lessons are small, live and interactive, with the same homework, marking, checkpoints and progress reporting as in-person classes. Your child is never left alone with a screen.

Question 17

What levels and subjects do you offer?

Accepted Answer

Primary 3 to Primary 6, across three subject lines: English (Writing to Score and English to Score), Mathematics (Solve to Score Maths) and Science (Apply to Score Science).

Question 18

How do you know my child's level?

Accepted Answer

Every student sits a placement assessment before joining. We use it to group students by level and ability and identify weak topics from day one.

Question 19

How will my child get the materials?

Accepted Answer

Soft copy is included. Printed materials can be collected or delivered — we'll confirm the collection point with you when your child joins.

Question 20

What happens if a payment is late?

Accepted Answer

Accounts may be suspended for late payment; we'll always contact you first.

Question 21

How does the 24-hour English Composition marking work?

Accepted Answer

Students submit their composition anytime — not just during a lesson. We return detailed, specific feedback within 24 hours, with no limit on how many compositions a student can submit.

Question 22

Can siblings join the same programme?

Accepted Answer

Yes — siblings can join the same class or different classes. Tell us both children's levels when you enquire and we'll work out a timetable that fits, along with the fees that apply.

Question 23

Can my child switch subjects?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We'll let you know how the switch may affect progress in the original subject before confirming.
